However, it is still possible for you to have a trip during rainy season. There are many places that still offer you amazing travel experience even during rainy season. One of them is Thailand. This country in Southeast Asia is already a popular travel destination. There are many places to see and things to do while travelling around the country. In Thailand, months from June to October is often filled with heavy rains because it is the time where the monsoon season happens. However, there are still many things you can do even when you visit Thailand during rainy season. Here are some of them;

Join a class

Join a class to learn Thai culture more. Thailand has very distinctive culture that is interesting to learn. Thais are very welcoming to visitors who want to learn more about their culture. Therefore, you can enroll yourself in a class and learn the arts firsthand. Thai art classes are fun and interesting. You can join a single class or enroll in moths-long-one-on-one instruction. You can also join a cooking class in Chian Mai and learn some Thai cooking techniques and recipes. It’s going to be a very meaningful trip for you. 

Festivals

Enjoy some festivals in Thailand. Even during rainy season, Thailand still have schedule for festivals. There is the Phi Ta Kon Festival in Loei located in northeast Thailand. It eve coincides with the Buddhist holiday of Bun Luang. The festival itself is not too unfamiliar because it is almost similar to Halloween but in Thai culture. The locals dress up as spirits and ghosts for the occasion. There is also the Bun Bungfai Festinal in Yasothon, located in eastern Thailand. It is the festival to mark the end of the dry season. The festival involves firing giants rockets into the sky. It is said the fireworks are shot to appease the Phaya Thaen, the god of rain. There are also other festive fun you get to enjoy. 

Whitewater rafting

If you are into adventurous vacation, try whitewater rafting in Thailand during rainy season. The heavy rains make the perfect condition to the swelling rivers. There is the Khek River Rafting Festival running during rainy season from July to October. There are about eighteen rapids in the river ready to challenge you. You have to get ready with the rapid in level IV to V ride.

Visit museums and temples

During rainy season, you can visit some museum and temples in Thailand. Thailand has plenty of indoor entertainment to enjoy during rainy season such as Bangkok’s royal palaces. The most remarkable places include the Grand Palace and its Emerald Buddha Temple, the Siriraj Medical Museum, and several Buddhist temples such as the Wat Indraviharn, Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, and Wat Pathum Wanaran. Therefore, there’s nothing can stop you from enjoying a fun trip in Thailand even heavy rains.
