Clovelly, Devon

This is a privately-owned village consisted of 300 people. It was used to be a busy fishing port. However, only a few of fishing boats are still operating today. It is also considered one of the oldest villages in England. During your visit, you will get to enjoy cobbled, pedestrian street to explore around.  This village has limited vehicle access so it’s a car-free place. Entrance of vehicles is only permitted from 9 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. There are many things to explore during our romantic travel such as visiting to museums or craft museums. You can also go shopping for souvenirs or try night fishing by renting the local boats. 

Shaftsbury, Dorset

This village has appeared in various films such as Downtown Abbey, Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice, as well as the Wolfman. This a traditional English village with pretty features around it. There are only about 1,100 people occupy this tiny village. This village is still accessible for vehicle but it will be charged for every admission. This place is a great spot for photography. There is also a museum dedicated to William Fox Talbot, a pioneer of photography. In this museum, you will get to see temporary and permanent exhibitions of both early and modern photography. Choosing this tiny, pretty village is a good idea for your romantic travel plan. You won’t get to deal with the constant crowd or noise.

Lacock village, Wiltshire

This village was once featured in commercial for British brand of whole meal bread as traditional English village. It is also an old village because it has been existed since 1,000 years ago. There are also fun, relaxing activities you can do with your partner during your romantic vacation. You can walk down the hilly countryside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can also visit The Golden Hill Museum. There are two ancient houses. Another museum you can visit is Shaftsbury Abbey Museum and Garden located in a medieval herb garden and orchard.
